Who are we and what are we about?

Buy Eco began as a family owned business by Paul, Melissa & Riva in Sydney. In 2011 Viktoria has taken over the site in Melbourne and continue to develop Buy Eco because we have a keen interest in looking after this world we live in. We are keen to ensure that this world stays beautiful and continues to provide for future generations.

We are committed to developing a site where people can find well researched quality Eco Friendly products. We will not sell junk, every product that we sell has been well researched and is of high quality. You can feel comfortable that you are buying a great product.

We are also committed to providing a great service, most products on this site are held in stock so that we can ship them quickly. Any products that we do not hold directly in stock are supplied directly from suppliers that are reliable and provide excellent service that aligns with our service standards.

We Practise What We Preach

At Buy Eco we use green power, all packaging materials are either recycled or biodegradable. We walk or use public transport where possible. We use energy and water-saving devices and we make a conscious effort to look after the environment.

What is Eco?

Eco is not very clearly defined. We feel it is important that you understand what we consider to fit within the Eco banner and within our site.


Dictionary definition:
 eco-
a combining form representing ecology in the formation of compounds (ecosystem; ecotype); also with the more general sense “environment,” “nature,” “natural habitat” (ecocide; ecolaw; ecopolitics).


In simple terms, Eco is good for the environment, it works with nature and fits in with life. To be Eco Friendly a product needs to have at least one, but likely many of the following:

• Have little or no effect on the environment and nature.
• It should be efficient and not waste energy or resources.
• It should break down naturally or be recyclable.
• Assist in reducing our impact on the environment.
• Work with nature, not against it.
